About Me

Welcome! I am an Assistant Professor and Veni Laureate at Leiden Observatory. Prior to joining Leiden in 2019, I spent time  in the Anton Pannekoek Institute at the University of Amsterdam (2017-2019) as a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow and at ESO HQ in Garching, Germany (2014-2017) as an ESO Postdoctoral Fellow.

My main line of research uses observations and models to trace how the solid building blocks of life, e.g. icy and rocky “dust” grains, evolve from their origins in dense molecular clouds to their incorporation into planetesimals and young protoplanets embedded within protoplanetary disks. Through this research, I hope to contribute to answering the questions “How did Earth get here?” and “Are we alone?”
